We recommend and supply quality branded CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamp), which are manufactured by: Osram Dulux T, GE Biax T, Radium Ralux T, Sylvania Lynx T, Philips Master PL-T 2 Pin, which are replaceable and compatible with either one or the other.
The CFL T 2 Pin Low Energy Compact Fluorescent Lamps use as much as 75% less power than a regular GLS incandescent light bulb, and provide about the same amount of light. Other advantages with the CFL over incandescent light bulbs are they last almost ten times longer, greatly lowering the cost of your electricity bills and because they last so long reduce the amount of time spent re-lamping.
The CFL is similar to the fluorescent tube and works on precisely the same principle, but their compact size allows them to be used in a far greater variety of luminaires, predominantly where space is the main concern. The CFL T 2 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps cannot be dimmed. They are ideal for use in general, amenity and security lighting schemes illuminating open areas, stairways and corridors in sports centres, industrial parks, car parks, office blocks, shopping centres and similar types of property.
The CFL is a very good choice environmentally, because it has a long life, mercury content and the light depreciation is low, and that in turn will lead to a reduction in the amount of CO2 emissions.
Always replace the CFL T 2 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps with precisely the same wattage lamp as the one you are removing, otherwise the wrong wattage may overload and cause damage to the control gear inside the luminaire. These lamps come in various shades of white and all the colour details can be found on the "more details" pages. To increase the brightness of a room you will need to change to another colour, the 840 Cool White is the brightest of this group, and this will allow a higher level of illumination using the same wattage. Changing to another lamp shade of white invariably means changing all the lamps in the room or surrounding area, otherwise a mixture of white shades will easily be noticed. The average life of CFL T lamps is about 10,000 hours.
