We supply branded lamps only and this CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp) is manufactured by one of the following: GE Biax DE, Sylvania Lynx DE, Radium Ralux DE, Philips Master PL-C 4 Pin, Osram Dulux DE, all of which are compatible with the other.
The CFL DE 4 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps save energy by consuming about 75% less electricity for the same quantity of light as the standard equivalent incandescent light bulbs. In addition, apart from reducing the cost of your power bills, they also have a life expectation of up to ten times longer than the standard incandescent light bulbs. Therefore, a significant amount of inconvenience and time can be saved because re-lamping becomes less frequent.
The CFL lamp works in exactly the same way as a fluorescent tube except they are far more compact using much less space, this in turn makes them suitable for a greater range of applications. The CFL DE 4 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps are fully dimmable with the right control gear and are suitable for use within a wide range of luminaries, both inside and outside industrial and commercial property, lighting corridors, stairways, open floor areas and providing security and amenity lighting.
This lamp is a good choice as far as the environment is concerned because the light output depreciation and mercury content is very low and they have a long life and are therefore environmentally beneficial due to the reduced CO2 emissions.
When the CFL DE 4 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps are replaced it must always be done with exactly the same wattage as the lamp being removed or it may lead to the control gear in the light fitting becoming damaged. The lamp shades of white available are listed on the "more details" pages. If you are in need of a brighter light, it is worth considering changing to the 840 Cool White which is the brightest lamp in the range. It is worth remembering that if you are not changing all the lamps in a certain area, you must match the replacement lamp colour with the current lamp colour or else the mixture of white shades will be easily noticed. The life expectancy of these lamps is approximately 10,000 hours.
