We only supply branded lamps and this CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp) is from one of the following manufacturers: Osram Dulux D, Radium Ralux D, GE Biax D, Philips Master PL-C 2 Pin, Sylvania Lynx D, which are all compatible with each other.
The CFL D 2 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps are energy saving light bulbs using approximately 75% less power for the same amount of light as an equivalent standard incandescent light bulb. Furthermore, not only do they cut down on the cost of electricity bills and have a life expectancy ten times longer than that of incandescent light bulbs, a considerable amount of time and inconvenience can be saved in the re-lamping process.
CFL lamps work on the same principle as fluorescent tubes but are of a more compact design and take up far less space, making them suitable for a wider range of applications. The CFL D 2 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps are non-dimmable and are used within a variety of luminaries around commercial and industrial properties to light open floor areas, stairways, corridors and providing amenity and security lighting.
Environmentally this is a very good choice of lamp because the light output depreciation is low, they have a long life and low mercury content and are therefore a huge benefit to the environment due to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
When replacing the CFL D 2 Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamps, always do so with the same wattage as the lamp you are removing or you may damage the control gear in the light fitting. Listed on the "more details" pages are the lamp shades of white available. If the lamp you are using is not bright enough, you may wish to consider using the 840 Cool White which is the brightest in the range. However, unless you are changing all the lamps in the room, it is important that you match the replacement lamp colour with the existing lamp colour otherwise a mixture of whites will become very noticeable. These lamps have an average life span of up to 10,000 hours.
